Philly
We are all sitting on a bench here in sunny, green and beautiful Philadelphia wAiting for ourtour around Independence Hall! This tour will show us through the very building where they signed the Declaration of Independence! Amazing! We’ve already been on a Horse & Carriage ride that showed us: the first ever Elevator, Candy shop, Soda Pop store, the Debtors Prison, the Navy grounds, and the original White House… as well as visiting the Liberty Bell!
To get us in the mood, we also watched National Treasure last night, so we could visit all the places they did.
After the tour we’re off to the Rocky Steps and then on to Washington DC where the cherry blossoms are in full bloom!! So excited!
Plus, it’s my birthday.
With friends like these…
It’s been a while since we’ve posted much on here- one of those scenarios where we’re just living life and forget that while an average day may not be exciting to us, it probably is to you guys!
So the latest big news is our friends Aaron & Leanne arrived in New Jersey yesterday morning!
they caught an hour earlier flight from LA to Newark so we met them at the gate in the wonderful hour of 5am!! only to find one of their bags decided to take the original flight so arrived an hour later?! Grr… it had all the food and presents in too-
We didn’t let them rest either, it was straight home for a freshen up and then off to church at Liquid for the 11am, lunch with friends and then the 5pm. With a bit of TV and snacking, the night finished at 9:30 and they were quickly to sleep.
Today was just as crazy with their first ever visit to New York City!! While I had to work, they caught the train in with Bek and explored Times Square, NBC Store, 5th Avenue and Central Park…all in the rain!
the brightside? How about 3 tickets to the taping of The Tonight Show with Dave Letterman!?!?
Tonight I’m catching the train in (and killing time by writing this on my phone) and will meet them in Times Square where we’ll have some dinner at Bubba Gumps.
It seems like a fantastic first real day to their trip and I’m sure will only get better as they prepare for the Statue of Liberty, ice hockey, basketball, and our roadtrip to Niagara Falls and Washington in Wednesday-Sunday!
Stay tuned!!
Liquid Church Mobile
So this is something that I’ve been working on for the last 6 months and it’s finally launching on March 12th!
We are really excited about our Mobile website and we’ve packed it full of features that are all rather clever really… especially for a phone! I’ve done all the design/user interaction work for it and then worked with our in-house web developer who built the site.
I’ll post a little more once it’s launched next Friday night!
Washington & NY
A video from my Mum and Dad’s visit last September when we visited Washington and NY City… yes, I’m a little late.
I loved Washington – even if it was a little overcast and rainy. The architecture is so commanding and strong, built to last the next 100 years within the government city of the United States.
I look forward to going back there in the Spring to see the famous cherry blossoms and greenery!
Nintendo Wii-iiiiiiii !!!!!
We bought ourselves a Nintendo Wii for Christmas today! Got a great deal from Walmart with a $50 voucher-
To add to the fun, we also came home with the new Wii Fit Plus game and board etc. Bek has been setting up her profile and going through some exercise routines this evening, including; Hula Hoops, Yoga, Cycling and many other amusing exercises. It’s great fun watching someone stand on a strange board and swing their hips to the exercises on the TV!!
Added to the fun and games is the fact that the Wii has built in wireless, which we weren’t expecting! So within 15mins of setting it up, we were online and checking out the web and what that can bring the Wii through the online communities. We found a bunch of pre-made Mii’s (the little characters you use in the games) and downloaded them to add some excitement and craziness to the games.
Now we can have – Michael Jackson, Hitler, Arnie, Miss Piggy, Jesus and Mr T play baseball with us!! Good times.
What could make today even more fun?
It’s snowing outside for the first time this winter.
We love it.
Have you played a Nintendo Wii? What are some of your favourite games?
