Washington & NY
A video from my Mum and Dad’s visit last September when we visited Washington and NY City… yes, I’m a little late.
I loved Washington – even if it was a little overcast and rainy. The architecture is so commanding and strong, built to last the next 100 years within the government city of the United States.
I look forward to going back there in the Spring to see the famous cherry blossoms and greenery!
Nintendo Wii-iiiiiiii !!!!!
We bought ourselves a Nintendo Wii for Christmas today! Got a great deal from Walmart with a $50 voucher-
To add to the fun, we also came home with the new Wii Fit Plus game and board etc. Bek has been setting up her profile and going through some exercise routines this evening, including; Hula Hoops, Yoga, Cycling and many other amusing exercises. It’s great fun watching someone stand on a strange board and swing their hips to the exercises on the TV!!
Added to the fun and games is the fact that the Wii has built in wireless, which we weren’t expecting! So within 15mins of setting it up, we were online and checking out the web and what that can bring the Wii through the online communities. We found a bunch of pre-made Mii’s (the little characters you use in the games) and downloaded them to add some excitement and craziness to the games.
Now we can have – Michael Jackson, Hitler, Arnie, Miss Piggy, Jesus and Mr T play baseball with us!! Good times.
What could make today even more fun?
It’s snowing outside for the first time this winter.
We love it.
Have you played a Nintendo Wii? What are some of your favourite games?

Here’s a slideshow of our first College Football game last night!!
Halloween @ Six Flags
Halloween is a big deal here in the USA… actually it is a HUGE deal! There is a lot of tradition around the season of Fall and Halloween with parties/events/shows etc. and we were given the chance to visit a theme park called Six Flags: Great Adventure on Halloween with our good friends Brett & Renae.
I’d never done a real theme park before… the closest I’ve been is Luna Park, which isn’t saying much quite honestly. Although Six Flags could be better defined as a Rollercoaster Park since it has about 12 of them inside!
So on Halloween 2009, I had my first ever ride on a REAL rollercoaster and loved it! It was the Superman coaster where you are actually rotated 90′ so you are lying horizontally facing the ground- just like Superman!
I loved the ride so much, I think I was instantly addicted to coasters. I was still very anxious when lining up for new rides, but it turned to excitement once I was strapped in, with Bek finding amusement in my yelling and whoo!’ing!
In total we did 11 rollercoasters… each one as crazy as the next!
To finish it all off there was a Fright Fest in the evening with the chance to ‘Escape the Asylum’… an Asylum with lots of crazy zombies with sticks and chainsaws!
Below is a quick 2-min video of our fun there!
Google Picasa
I’m going to have a bash at uploading photos to Google Picasa-
Want to see how it goes for a while, uploading and organising slideshows etc. for the blog… plus I want to see how it goes when sharing photos with family and friends!
We’ll see what happens.
